Curemonte is in the southern Correze quite close to the Lot and the Dordogne departments, it stretches out along a ridge overlooking the Sourdoire and Maumont valleys and commands stunning views across the valleys.

Curemonte is designated as one of the Les plus beaux villages de France and is mentioned in the French Historic Monuments List. The village has three chateaux, a 16th century church and several noble houses of historic significance.
