Water Gardens of Carsac in the Dordogne
The Jardins d’Eau are 3 acres of botanicl gardens located in Saint Rome, Carsac-Aillac, Dordogne.
The gardens are a collection of large ponds set above the Dordogne River that contain 16 lotus species and other aquatic plants including Caltha, Glyceria, Pontederia, and Sagittaria, as well as waterside plants including Cyperus papyrus, Gunnera manicata, Hosta, Iris, and Lobelia.
The garden has a backdrop of cliffs and wood and is a lovely relaxed place to visit.
They are open May to October; an admission fee is charged.

Carsac full name is Carsac-Alliac and is a small town in the Dordogne.
It is a pretty town with traditional yellow stone buildings.
Carsac is 9km from the popular holiday destinatation of Sarlat.
